The MOST powerful meeting I’ve ever attended is called MAPs or “Making an Action Plan” and it should be a part of every IEP development. Comment “MAP” for a FREE info sheet🎉

Many families hear statements like:
“We don’t have enough staff.”
“This is all we offer.”
“We typically don’t provide that level of support.”

Under IDEA, the IEP team is supposed to determine what services the student needs in order to receive FAPE (Free Appropriate Public Education).

The district is then responsible for providing those services.✅

The service section of the IEP is one of the most important parts of the meeting, but many recommendations are presented quickly without much explanation.

Here are 3 important questions to ask during the service discussion:

✔️ “What data supports this frequency of services?”
✔️ “Who is responsible for collecting and monitoring goal data?”
✔️ “How is this service individualized to my child’s needs?”
